Description: Helix Nebula. Very low surface brightness without nebula filters. At 47x it's hardly in view with averted vision and much harder with higher powers. Anyway, the O-III makes everything easier: the nebula is huge and very bright ring which is brighter on the west and northeast edges. The NE brightening is a bit triangular whereas other is more arc like. There are also some stars involved with the central area which is clearly brighter than background sky but fainter than ring around.
