Description: A very bright but still challenging galaxy with a superb spiral structure. It's pretty difficult to see clearly how spiral arms circulate the central bar. There are also several knots and stars among the arms.

Description: M83 is one of the finest galaxies in the sky. I observed it first time in Tenerife (2004). A superb spiral structure was then well-defined. Someway I got now little problems at first, central bar and nucleus were obvious but I foraged for spiral arms several minutes. Finally I caught them and noticed that western arm is much brighter than eastern. But the eastern arm has divided in two parts. There is also fine string of stars on the southside.
