Description: Finally I was able to see the SN 2006X in M100. This was the third time: clouds have spoiled my previous attempts. I didn't have finder chart so I had to be very intent with the stars on the galaxy. After one hour viewing I was absolutely sure that the supernova is little to south from the core. Photos ensure my observation. I was surprised how faint it is, estimated over 15 mag. M100 itself is a very beautiful spiral galaxy. Spiral structure is pretty easy at 228x. Almost round core, the northern arm is little brighter and sharper than southern.

Alempi haara näytti ajoittain jakaantuvan kahteen osaan, jonka ansiosta galaksista pystyikin näkemään kolme spiraalihaaraa.
